Life on Mars Trail in the finale at this year’s Croatian Tourism Days
The Croatian Tourism Days 2025, held in Dubrovnik, once again confirmed the exceptional quality and innovation of Novalja’s tourism offer. Novalja stood out as the best in two categories and ranked among the Top 3 in another two, reaffirming its status as one of the most beloved destinations in Croatia. Hotel Boškinac and the holiday home Figurica from Lun won prestigious awards, while the events Life on Mars Trail and MarsOvca also made it to the finals.
This spectacular trail, which in 2025 once again reached the finals in the active tourism category, attracts more than 1,500 competitors from around the world each year. The reason is simple: the natural scenery of the island of Pag is truly breathtaking. The Life on Mars Trail routes lead through almost surreal landscapes of bare, wind-carved Pag stone, where the bora wind, sea salt, and the first spring rays of sunshine meet in harmonious contrast. It is precisely this rugged, almost Martian environment that gives the race its unique energy and makes it one of the most popular trail events in the Mediterranean.
Alongside the award-winning Hotel Boškinac and the Figurica holiday home from Lun, the Life on Mars Trail has once again confirmed that Novalja is not just a destination of beautiful beaches, but also a strong center of active and sustainable tourism. Its place in the finals, together with the MarsOvca event, is proof that Novalja continuously develops new tourist experiences that inspire and delight visitors.
“These awards are not only proof of high-quality organization and the cooperation of all stakeholders in Novalja, but also confirmation that the City of Novalja is setting new standards for tourism development in the country,” emphasized the Director of the Novalja Tourist Board, Marina Šćiran.
