The Town of Novalja was officially awarded the title of European City of Sport 2025 in Brussels

The city of Novalja has won the prestigious title of European Town of Sport for 2025 in the category of towns with up to 25,000 inhabitants. This title is awarded by the non-profit organization ACES Europe (European Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation), which recognizes outstanding achievements in the development of sport, sports infrastructure, promotion of active tourism, and encouragement of a healthy lifestyle.

The awarding of the European Town of Sport for 2025 title is the result of continuous efforts to enhance the city’s sports offerings, encourage participation in sporting activities for all generations—with particular emphasis on people with disabilities and impairments—and organize numerous local, national, and international sports events.

The official presentation of the title took place on December 12, 2024, in Brussels.
