Registrations Open for the Life on Mars Trail 2026

We are approaching the ninth edition of the legendary Life on Mars Trail, an event that has, over the years, become a symbol of adventure, challenge, and unforgettable scenery. This year, the race will take place on 28 March 2026 in the unique village of Metajna, a small yet exceptionally picturesque place on the island of Pag, known for its harsh, almost otherworldly beauty.

The moment you step onto the starting line, it will become clear why this particular part of Pag inspired the race’s name. The rocky landscape, extremely sparse vegetation, and dramatic textures of the terrain resemble a true Martian setting. Yet, behind that harshness lies a nature of unimaginable beauty—contrasts that take your breath away at every step.

Participants will run in three different categories, carefully designed to offer everyone a challenge suited to their fitness level, as well as an unforgettable opportunity to experience the most stunning parts of this unique environment.

The trail leads across rocky beaches shaped by wind and sea, narrow paths winding between stone formations, and steeper ascents and descents that will test each runner’s endurance, technique, and mental strength. As they progress along the route, participants will enjoy views of the monumental Velebit mountain on one side and serene, magical Pag Bay on the other. This dramatic contrast between a stone desert and the tranquil blue of coves and beaches is one of the reasons why the Life on Mars Trail remains unforgettable long after crossing the finish line.

Participants are advised to bring their race number clearly attached to the front, a fully charged mobile phone with the number provided during registration, a basic first aid kit including a bandage, gauze, and plasters, a sufficient amount of liquids appropriate for their category’s distance, and clothing and footwear suitable for the trail’s specific conditions and the weather.
